Zlatan Ibrahimovic questions Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus

Right after Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 20th goal for Juventus, Zlatan Ibrahimovic questions his move to the Serie A side. He believes opting for a transfer to a club that has won seven consecutive titles will not provide Cristiano Ronaldo a new challenge. The Swedish star also believes that the Bianconeri club already is a giant at Serie A.

After spending his years with Spanish side Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo opted for his ‘$114-Million’ move to Serie A club Juventus ahead of the 2018-19 football season. He also called that move to Turin a new ‘challenge’ in his footballing career. And since his joining, he scored 18 Serie A goals and provided 7 assists so far.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, on the other hand, is about to begin his first full-season with MLS side LA Galaxy, although he took his transfer to the American club in March last year. And now while talking about the challenge, the Swedish forward believes if Ronaldo would have opted for a less-powerful side, it would be a real challenge.

While talking about Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Serie A side Juventus, Zlatan Ibrahimovic told DAZN, “I didn’t say his transfer wasn’t great.” The star forward then further elaborated and added “I said that it wasn’t a challenge to join Juventus. It’s not a challenge to go to one of the best teams in the world.”

He said “Maybe it depends on what you mean by challenge. For me, a challenge is joining a team and taking them far. That’s a challenge.” The LA Galaxy star then praised the Serie A side for the move and said, “In any case, it’s a great signing for Italian football because thanks to him, my second home of Serie A has grown.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic said “This year is very open. There isn’t a team who are better than all the others or a favorite. Maybe one of my old teams will win: PSG, Manchester United, Juve or Barcelona.” He then further added “Unfortunately Inter have been eliminated, while Milan aren’t there. There are four teams and I hope one of them win it.”
