It is now widely known that he dedicated himself like no other in the circuit of football with immense concentration. He started to display his football flair since his Sporting CP days and gradually became among the best footballers in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo also established himself as a role model for the young players.

While talking about Cristiano Ronaldo, former Sporting CP star Tonito told Gazzetta dello Sport, “Cristiano was a kid, but he was just like the man he became: humble, ambitious, determined and professional beyond belief.” He said “During training, he’d turn heads among the veterans, and I’d say to him: ‘Steady, don’t overdo it…’” and added “I would also give him lifts [to and from training].

The star said, “But I’d have to wait an hour at the training ground, because he never wanted to leave.” He then added, “I’d bang on the window of the gym and say: ‘Come on, Cris, it’s time to stop – it’s getting late!” It is now clear that those dedications paid off as Cristiano Ronaldo is now having a physical fitness of a 20-year-old.

Tonito said “Will I go back to Sporting like Nani? In football, you never know.” The former Sporting CP said “Everyone in Turin welcomed me in a fantastic way. We’re all feeling very good,” and then added, “I don’t know when my career will end, but I’m fine and I want to keep going for many more years.”
