Marko Grujic explains his rendition of the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo celebration

The 22-year-old midfielder scored a brilliant first-half equalizer against Schalke that is followed by his celebration that looked quite similar to the iconic celebration of the Portuguese legend. And now, Hertha BSC’s Marko Grujic explains his rendition about that particular style of celebration after his goal.

He openly admitted that he could not control himself from replicating the iconic celebration style of Cristiano Ronaldo. Yevhen Konoplyanka scored an early opener that put Schalke ahead on that match. But, Grujic then scored the crucial equalizer followed by the celebration with a jump and spreaded arms.

The young footballer expressed that he did not have a plan to copy the celebration of the Portuguese star but he could not control himself doing that. Marko Grujic recently joined Hertha on loan from Liverpool until the end of the 2018-19 football season. And since his joining, he displayed quite a promising start.

Marko Grujic’s club Hertha BSC is now sitting at the seventh place of the Bundesliga table even after having a 2-2 draw against Schalke. The youngster recently talked about his iconic ‘Cristiano Ronaldo styled’ celebration. While recalling the celebration, he said “Pure emotion. I could not control it, it just happened like that.”

He then said “I look up to Ronaldo. He is a great role model for me because he works obsessively on his development.” The Hertha BSC midfielder then further added “I love to live as professionally as possible and to prioritize everything else after it. Messi may be the more talented player, but Ronaldo has worked it all out.”
